There is a common idea that newborn photos have to happen within the first 7–10 days of life.
That's not necessarily true.
Many of my newborn sessions take place within the first few weeks, when babies are still naturally sleepy and curled up. But beautiful newborn photographs can be created well beyond that window.
Your baby doesn't have to be perfectly sleepy.
They don't have to cooperate the entire time.
And they definitely don't have to look like the babies you see in someone else's photographs.
Every baby is different—and that's one of the reasons I love a baby-led approach.
Rather than forcing your baby into a series of complicated poses, I allow their needs and personality to guide the session.
Sometimes that means lots of cuddling.
Sometimes it means stopping for a feeding.

In fact, I tend to prefer simple, neutral clothing that doesn't compete with the connection happening between your family members.
Soft creams, warm browns, oatmeal, beige, muted earth tones, whites, and other natural colors photograph beautifully.
For moms, I have a selection of motherhood wardrobe options available in the studio.
For your baby, I have newborn pieces, wraps, blankets, and other simple options available as well.
And if you have something special you'd love to incorporate—a family heirloom, meaningful blanket, or sentimental outfit—let's talk about it.

Do Parents and Siblings Get in the Photos?
Absolutely.
Your newborn session isn't just about photographing the baby.

Parents are encouraged to participate, and siblings are welcome in the full newborn studio session.

If your three-year-old isn't interested in photographs, that's okay too.

For a studio session, you don't need to pack your entire nursery.
I'll provide many of the essentials for your baby's portraits, including newborn wardrobe and blankets.

Extra diapers
